The University of Alabama
Visit the International Admissions page to apply to The University of Alabama.

You must be 17 on the first day of your first session at the ELI.

Apply to the ELI and send all documents. (See “What do I need to apply?” on this page). We will send you a transfer-in form. The international advisor (DSO) at your current school must complete it.

Next, send the completed transfer-in form to the ELI. We will send you an admission letter. Give this letter to your international advisor.

Finally, when you arrive on the UA campus, pick up your new I-20 at International Student and Scholar Services (105 B.B. Comer Hall).

As soon as the ELI receives all of your admission documents, we will issue your I-20 in two or three business days. If you pay a $50 fee, we will send your I-20 by express mail (UPS). The express mail service takes one week or less. Overseas regular mail takes much longer and is hard to predict.

If you want an F-1 student visa, you must first have your I-20 form and admission letter from the ELI. Then go to the SEVIS I-901 website to pay for your SEVIS fee.

Complete the DS-160 application, pay the visa application fee, and schedule an interview with the US embassy/consulate near you. For more information, go to Study in the States.

Yes! We offer a 50% tuition scholarship to current (continuing) students.

Learn more about the scholarship by visiting the ELI’s Scholarship page.

If you would like to pay before you arrive, there are two payment options: myBama account or Flywire.

After you receive your CWID number via e-mail, you will set up an account at http:/mybama.ua.edu. This will be your student portal for e-mail, registering for classes, and payment for your student charges. You can pay your tuition from this portal by credit or debit card.

If you are unable to pay from your myBama account, or you wish to pay by bank transfer from any country, you may choose to use Flywire at http://ua.flywire.com. You can also pay by debit or credit card using Flywire. These payments should include required fees only; they should not include personal funds. You will need your CWID for this payment method.

Students can also pay by cash, personal check (bank draft from a US bank), money order, or with a debit or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover) upon arrival at the Student Account Services office on campus, 105 Student Services Building.

For each family member (spouse or child), provide the following information on your application:
full name/date of birth/relationship to you.

Send a copy of each family member’s passport photo page.

Your bank must show proof of $850 per family member for each session you plan to attend.

A letter of support on company/school letterhead
