Culture and Language Exchange

The Culture and Language Exchange matches the ELI students with UA students who would like to meet an international friend. Some of these students are studying the ELI student’s native language. Once matched, these pairs or groups of students meet as often as they like for conversation practice in English and possibly in the ELI student’s native language. Complete the Culture and Language Exchange request form to request a language partner.

Culturally Speaking

Through the Culturally Speaking class, ELI students meet regularly with University of Alabama (UA) students to converse in English in relaxed surroundings. Culturally Speaking provides a comfortable way for ELI students to form friendships with UA students and to practice their English. Students in Speaking/Listening 2 and above can register for this free class.
