5 Weeks, End of June thru August


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This is the 18th consecutive year of the University of Alabama's
German Language summer abroad program. For the last seven
years we have been located at the University of Klagenfurt, in
Klagenfurt, Austria. Klagenfurt, a city of about 80,000 is located on
Lake Wörther (the largest mountain lake in Austria). The city, which is surrounded by mountains, is the capital of the Austrian state of Carinthia. At the University of Klagenfurt the students are enrolled
in the "Deutsch in Österreich Programm." The program at the Institute lasts from July 7 to August 1. Thereafter the group will
travel to Munich for a week, with excursions to Nuremberg or
Rothenburg, Dachau, and Neuschwanstein Castle.

*GN 201 and GN 202 cannot be taken concurrently.

Late applications will be considered.

Students planning to use financial aid to fund their overseas study should contact Vickey Phillips (vickey.phillips@ua.edu, 205-348-8760, 135 B.B. Comer Hall) for a financial aid letter which details the cost of the program and estimates expenses not included in the program. Students should take the letter to Financial Aid and meet with a counselor. If Financial Aid determines an award will be made, they will prepare an Anticipated Aid form for you. Please bring this form to CIAP. Please remember to include your CWID and name of program on the form.
