The University of Alabama is offering its students the unique opportunity to earn course credit while learning about health care in Japan. Students in health related fields of study who have completed 18 credit hours are eligible. Students who successfully complete the program will earn three hours of credit from The University of Alabama. The program is open to all majors in health related fields. The program is limited to six students. Students will visit local medical facilities to gain first-hand knowledge of medical practices in Japan. Students will visit hospitals, and discuss aspects of pediatric, adult, maternal and community nursing. During the day, in conjunction with the clinical sight visits, there will be lectures by the Chiba faculty. An optional home visit with a local Japanese family is also possible.
