| Speakers Bureau Capstone International Speakers Bureau is a dynamic program that utilizes and serves UA faculty and staff, UA international and domestic students, as well as the Tuscaloosa community. Coordinated by Capstone International Center, the Speakers Bureau provides speakers for UA classes, local school system classes, special events, and for specific international forums. Consisting of student and community volunteers as well as Capstone International Center staff, the Speakers Bureau presents a diverse repertoire of internationally focused topics. Topics have included immigration regulations for international students, international student employment, study abroad opportunities for all UA students, country/cultural presentations for local schools and UA classes, hiring international faculty and staff, as well as an overview of UA’s international student population. Annual events such as Language Day, World Friends Day and City Fest have also benefited from Speakers Bureau volunteers. Contact the Speakers Bureau for your classroom, your special event, or if you want to volunteer. The Speakers Bureau is an interactive opportunity to become a part of UA’s international community. Please contact Katie Gilbert at kgilbert@aalan.ua.edu or Angela Channell at achannel@aalan.ua.edu if you wish to volunteer, or if the Speakers Bureau would be of benefit to your classroom, special event or community activity. |
