Associate Provost for International Education & Global Outreach
Director: Dr. Carolina Robinson
- Assists faculty with overseas program development
- Develops & implements marketing & recruitment strategies
- Provides prep sessions for faculty on budgeting, health & safety, risk management, etc.
- Coordinates administrative process with multiple other offices: student receivables, judicial affairs, registrar, etc.
- Advises students on study abroad
- Conducts mandatory pre-departure sessions
- Provides reentry/ returnee programming
Interim Director: Ms. Amy Taylor
- Provides intensive English language training & cultural orientation for students, professionals, & graduate teaching assistants.
- Culturally Speaking classes for UA undergrads & ELI students.
- Culture & Language Exchange Program pairs UA foreign language learners with ELI students.
- International Teaching Assistant Program provides evaluation & training for non-native GTAs.
- Academic Support Program provides support classes for matriculated UA students.
- Study Center provides self-help materials and tutoring.
Director: Mr. Charter Morris
- Processes required immigration documentation for all incoming students, faculty, & staff for The University of Alabama.
- Presents orientation sessions for international students & scholars.
- Conducts training for departments on student visa regulations, academic advising, employment visas, cultural sensitivity, etc.
- Administers on-going assistance & advice to international students & scholars regarding internships, employment authorization, & travel.
- Provides social & intercultural programming for internationals & entire UA community
