About the English Language Institute

The UA English Language Institute, established in 1982, offers a year-round, 5-level Intensive English Program for students from around the world. The ELI provides English language support to the University of Alabama through a variety of programs and academic support courses. The ELI also conducts customized programs upon request for groups that have specialized needs.

Professional standards of the highest quality are extremely important to the ELI, whose Intensive English Program is accredited by CEA (Commission on English Language Program Accreditation) and which is a member of UCIEP (University & College Intensive English Programs) and EnglishUSA.
