English Teacher Training Program
The ELI’s Teacher Training Program is designed to meet the needs of international teachers of English as a foreign language (EFL) who wish to improve their own English proficiency as well as their EFL teaching expertise.
Examples of Former ELI Teacher Training Programs
- Egyptian Fulbright Junior Faculty Development Program for TEFL scholars
- Colombian middle and high school teachers from the Department (state) of Cesar
- Brazilian high school teachers through the Institute of International Education and the Brazilian Ministry of Education
- Vietnamese teachers through a Teacher Enhancement Program
- Japanese junior and senior high school teachers sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Education and CIEE
Program open to groups
- Open to small groups of teachers from the same school
Program designed for non-native English speakers who teach English as a foreign language and want to
- Improve their English language skills
- Improve their English teaching skills
- Learn about and experience life in the US
Program includes
- Mentoring by an experienced ESL teacher
- Practice teaching with feedback
- Personal English instruction
- Opportunities to visit UA lectures in TESL
Flexible program length and dates
- Starting and ending dates chosen by participants
- Typical program length 2-8 weeks
Certificate awarded upon completion of program
