The U.S.-Colombia Grant Winner for the 21st Century Higher Education Partnerships

The Alabama-Colombia: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (AC-WASH) program is an innovative partnership between three universities in the Global South, Universidad del Norte (Uninorte), Tuskegee University, and The University of Alabama (UA). Within in the AC-WASH program, students will collaborate virtually on a semester long course during the spring, with a culmination two-week exchange that will take place in Alabama and Colombia. Students and professors will investigate water quality, access, expansion, as well as cultural diversity in the state of Alabama, and the city of Barranquilla, Colombia. The goal is to prepare students with the knowledge and technical skills to analyze global water issues while working in diverse teams.

When: Spring 2022 Course and Travel Dates May 22- June 4, 2022

Where: Tuscaloosa and Tuskegee, Alabama and Barranquilla, Colombia
