These scholarships are facilitated through the Education Abroad office. Students must apply directly through the Education Abroad website.

Campus Scholarships  

These scholarships are facilitated through other UA campus offices. Please direct any questions about these scholarships to the sponsoring departments.

The Tidwell-Lovett Family Endowed Scholarship for the Study Abroad Program at Culverhouse

Mr. Ken Tidwell received a bachelor of science degree in general business and a master of business administration degree from Culverhouse. He has a successful business career with top companies within the United States and around the world. It is his desire that this scholarship support students who are participating in study abroad programs within the College.

  • Who is eligible: Priority of consideration shall be given to students enrolled full-time in the Culverhouse College of Business who are considering study abroad and immersion programs. First preference shall be given to students who have graduated from a high school in the state of Alabama. If no students meet the above criteria, second preference shall be given to students who have graduated from a high school outside of the state of Alabama.
  • How to apply:   Visit https://forms.office.com/r/JuXypp7RtU?origin=lprLink. Please be prepared to submit a resume and one-page essay on your desire to study abroad. There is also an interview process with Mr. Tidwell which will take place in January 2025.

John Fraser Ramsey Award (Summer in Europe)

  • The Ramsey is open for juniors to apply and consists of a monetary award of $6,000 and a $5,000 travel award: The Great Ideas Tour (GIT) is named for the signature class taught by John Ramsey in his 42 years as a history professor at UA and is the opportunity for Ramsey recipients to travel through Europe and discover their own sense of possibility and responsibility within a global humanity. The Global and Community Leadership Development Committee supports efforts to develop leadership skills in cultural competence to enable students to communicate, compete and succeed globally in a culturally diverse society. The committee seeks applications for UA students interested in study away opportunities.
