Length of Study & Credit Earned

  • You will need two semesters to complete the program and begin full undergraduate study at The University of Alabama.
  • You will earn 15 hours of academic credit, will satisfy the UA English proficiency requirement, and will be ready for full-time undergraduate study.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Two-Semester Program, you must be admitted into the Pathway to UA, and meet the  following English proficiency test requirements

  • iBT 72 – 78 (Subscores: 18 Reading, 17 Listening, 20 Speaking, and 17 Writing)
  • IELTS 5.5 (Subscores: 5.5 in all areas)
  • DET 100 and ELI Placement in Level 5

Credits and Courses

Earn 15 academic credits. Each course is 3 credit hours.

During the 1st semester:

  • Take 1 undergraduate course
  • Take Reading/Writing and Speaking/Listening or Structure intensive English courses (no academic credit)

During the 2nd semester:

  • Take 4 undergraduate courses
  • Take 1 intensive English course as required (no academic credit)

Tuition Cost

$25,596 for two semesters

Completion Requirement

Students in the Pathway to UA must pass all classes with grades of C or higher. Each class may be repeated a maximum of one time.
