In addition to the ELI’s Intensive English Program, the ELI offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of English learners at the UA and around the world.

Customized Groups

Customized programs can be designed for groups of 10 or more students and can offer flexible dates, length, content, and focus.

A 4-week or 8-week program to improve English skills and learn about business concepts and practices in the United States.

Teacher Training

A flexible program for groups of international English teachers who wish to improve their teaching expertise and English proficiency.

ELI Business+English Program Class

English Lite

This class focuses on conversation skills for non-native English speakers who live in the Tuscaloosa area and want to improve their language skills. It meets twice a week.

Pathway to UA

This program is designed for degree-seeking students who need a higher level of English proficiency. The programs can be completed in one or two semesters.

UA campus in spring

Semester Abroad at UA

Students with limited English can study at UA for one semester (or longer) and transfer undergraduate academic credit to their home university.

Pathway to UA

Pathway to UA allows degree-seeking students to earn undergraduate academic credit while they study English and satisfy the English proficiency requirement.

Academic Support Program

This program provides courses that assist UA undergraduate and graduate students to develop and improve their oral and/or writing skills in English.
