What is ALMUN?
Alabama Model United Nations Conference (ALMUN) is an annual weekend-long conference based on simulations of United Nations committees and debate which offer to high school students from across the Southeast the opportunity to engage with global issues, raises awareness of the role the United Nations plays in world affairs, and encourages the creation of new Model United Nations programs in schools all across the state of Alabama and the wider region. This year will be the twelfth anniversary of the conference.
In the past ten years, ALMUN has hosted schools from Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Florida. We hope to continue building upon this successful outreach and our commitment to constantly improving the delegate experience. We are excited to challenge delegates through our well-developed and unique committee offerings based around four substantive branches: General Assemblies, Crisis Committees, Specialized Agencies and Press Corps.
If you are a UA student interested in staffing ALMUN as a chair, co-chair, or committee/conference staff, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved.
This year’s conference will be held on February 5-7, 2021.
