Bama (Crimson) Email Account

myBama (Crimson Email) Account Setup

All students at The University of Alabama are given a Campus Wide Identification Number (CWID). You need this number to set up your “myBama Account.” You use this account for receiving email, registering for classes, and many other actions at UA.

The ELI will send your CWID after we receive your application. If you have a question about your CWID, please contact the ELI office at info@eli.ua.edu.

Follow the steps below to set up your myBama account as soon as possible.

  1. Go to the UA’s MyBama website at mybama.ua.edu and click on “New myBama users – create your password.”
  2. Enter your last (family) name/names and CWID. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions.
  3. Choose how to confirm your identity. You will have the option to send an email to your personal email address or call your phone number. Choose the email option.
  4. Check your personal email account for a 6-digit code to enter into myBama to verify your identity.
  5. Receive instructions on setting up a password for your account. IMPORTANT: Remember your password!
  6. Receive your “myBama Account” email address. The login username is the first part of that email address.
  7. Write the email address and your password down! You need them on your first day at the ELI.
  8. You can forward your Crimson email account to your personal email address. Visit the Forwarding Email page for directions.

If you have any problems, please contact the ELI office by email at info@eli.ua.edu or by phone at 205-348-7413.
